Flag: The national flag of Belgium contians three equal vertical bands of black, yellow, and red. The colors were taken from the Dutch of Branbat, and the vertical design may be based on the flag of france. The colors were taken from The Dutchy of Branbat the vertical design might be taken from the french flag. In 1830 after the rioting at the Brussels Opera and the start of the Belgian Revolution somebody flew the flag of Frace at Brussels city hall. This was hastily replaced a flag of red, yellow, and horizontal stripes made at nearby fabric store. The stripes were later changed to vertical.
